Technical content and source policy

Our library helps visitors prepare a component enquiry. We distinguish published product information, preliminary calculations and application examples from a confirmed engineering selection.

Published information and attribution

Catalogue entries and guides draw on published manufacturer or supplier material and identify relevant sources. Specifications can vary between sizes, options, revisions and firmware. A family maximum may describe one configuration rather than every model in the family. Always confirm the current document for the exact ordered part.

Motion Control Products material is attributed to Motion Control Products. Its product capabilities, technical resources, history and project experience belong to that organisation. Referencing those publications does not turn them into Specify Motion's own work or imply that a named person has reviewed our article.

Authorship and review labels

The default attribution is Specify Motion technical library. An update date indicates an editorial update, not an independent test or a signed engineering approval. We do not use the default attribution to claim professional qualifications, an in-house engineering team or a named engineer's review.

A specific review or endorsement should only be described where it has actually been supplied and can be attributed accurately. A source link is evidence of where information came from, not evidence that the source organisation approved this website's wording.

Examples and calculators

Worked examples are labelled illustrative or hypothetical. They demonstrate a relationship or selection question and are not customer installations, test reports, testimonials or verified performance results. We do not invent project names, savings, delivery achievements or engineering endorsements.

Calculators publish their formulas, units, assumptions and exclusions. They calculate preliminary figures from the supplied inputs and do not choose or approve a product. Final selection needs the complete duty and exact manufacturer data, with the responsible engineer checking the installation and wider machine requirements.

Comparisons and commercial enquiries

Automated comparisons use selected published series figures to identify candidates for discussion. A candidate is not a verified cross-reference or drop-in replacement. Feedback, mounting, control functions, firmware, environment and other requirements can decide whether it is usable.

Specify Motion handles enquiries and may share requirements with the specialist engineering or supply partner best placed to help, as explained in the privacy notice. Product availability, manufacturer-direct routes, support scope, pricing and delivery are confirmed for the individual quotation. Listing a brand does not imply authorised-distributor status or affiliation.

Corrections and document requests

If a code, source or technical statement appears incorrect, send the page URL, the relevant product configuration and the supporting manufacturer document through an engineering enquiry. Identify what has changed and which revision applies. Requests for drawings, datasheets and installation information can also start through the technical resources page.
