Linear motors

LinMot MagSpring M01

A passive magnetic spring that applies a nearly constant force across its stroke. It is used to carry the weight of vertical loads so the linear motor does not have to hold them, or as a fail-safe return.

Key specifications

Continuous force (max)60 N
Stroke (max)350 mm

Summarised in our own words from NTI AG's published data; series maxima, individual models vary. Last checked 2026-10-29. Source 1

Notes on this data

Sizes and constant forces are M01-20 (11/17/22 N, stroke ≤290 mm), M01-37 (40/50/60 N, ≤350 mm) and M01-40 (40/50/60 N, <350 mm). force_N_cont_max holds the constant spring force, not a motor rating. A stainless-steel M01 SSC version is offered. The page gives no IP rating or speed.

Specify Motion is not affiliated with NTI AG. LinMot and MagSpring M01 are used only to identify the product. Comparisons use published figures; always confirm against the current datasheet.

Alternatives that meet or exceed these figures

Engineers often come to us with a LinMot part number and leave with an alternative that is easier to source, quicker to deliver or a better fit for the machine. These 3 series from our supply network are the closest match on published figures.

Figures are the highest published for each series and are not always measured the same way. A higher figure is not automatically a better choice: mounting, duty cycle, feedback, connectors and approvals matter too. An engineer will check the fit against your application before recommending anything.
